Does Office 365 Have The Edge On Office 2019?

Microsoft recently announced the launch of Office 2019 with the major update available on Mac and Windows. This update brings improvements to Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook.

In Powerpoint 2019, you can create cinematic presentations with new features such as Morph and Zoom. You can more naturally create documents with improvements such as pressure sensitivity, tilt effects and pencil case. Excel 2019 has new data analysis features with new formulas, charts and enhancements to PowerPivot. Word 2019 and Outlook 2019 can aid in your focus and efficiency with the Read Aloud and Text Spacing features, with Focus Mode helping you block out distractions.

The Focused Inbox also helps you prioritise the most important emails. Office 365 ProPlus, the cloud-connected version of Office, offers the lowest total cost of ownership for deployment and management with new features to ProPlus monthly. This includes innovations in collaboration, AI, security and more.

Office 2019 will be kept secure with regular security updates, however, there will be no new features added to that version. Office 2019 is offered as a single purchase which allows you to have full licensing of the product and the ability to use the software on premise.

Every new feature in Office 2019 is already available on Office 365 and is still available for Windows 7 and 8, as long as these operating systems are still supported by Microsoft. Office 365 offers cloud-based innovation, increased security, cheaper costs for ownership and seems to be the clear focus for Microsoft going forward. If you want to have the most modern office suite available, regularly updated to take advantage of the latest developments, combined with the freedom and security of the cloud, then Office 365 is the choice to make.
